Feruza Dadabaeva and Askar Salimdjanov were the 1st Place winners of our Piano and String Duo Competition. They shared a
$4,000 prize. The duo were also the Chapter 2020 Piano Scholarship and Violin Scholarship Recipients, receiving $1,000 each.
2nd Place was awarded to Guzal Isametdinova, piano and Zulfiya Bashirova, violin , who shared a $2,000 prize. 3rd Place was awarded to Sharon Villegas, piano and David Brill, violin, who shared a $1,000 prize.

Dorothy Gal was our chapter's selection for the Dorothy Lincoln Smith Classical Voice Competition. At Nationals she won 3rd prize and was awarded $2,000!
Dorothy asked to share this message with you:
"I’m so thrilled and honored to have won third place! Thank you so much for all of your aid in processing the application and submitting my materials forward.
I know that this award will help greatly with role preparation and future engagements as I finish my residency with The Houston Grand Opera next month."
In her application Dorothy said:
"I know I’ve chosen to intensely study the only craft which can awaken my soul, provide comfort to myself and others, inspire boundless creativity, and allow me to leave my mark on the world."

The show went on---virtually! With Musical Theater being the category for this year's National competition, we knew we had to keep our commitment to the wonderful young performers who wanted their shot at the prize money and prestige this competition offers.

Wooldjina Present, representing our Chapter, was the recipient of a $500 Shirley Rabb Winston National Voice Scholarship, in the age group 16 to 18.
She is a student at the New World School of the Arts and shared this message:
"Thank you! Receiving a Winston Voice Scholarship will allow me to continue my vocal studies by helping me cover the cost of voice lessons/coaching during the summer along with the cost of summer programs."
